Driving Miss Daisy Playbill

Meet the Cast

2365CANDACE O’DONNELL AS DAISY WERTHAN

Candace is honored to be reprising this inspiring play with the “dream team” of Stan, Michael and Brian. She is blessed to help deliver this still-timely message 50 years after Martin Luther King Jr.’s I Have a Dream speech.

Candace retired from teaching English at Elizabethtown College has performed at the Fulton, E-PAC, Sight and Sound, both Rainbow and Dutch Apple Dinner Theatres, TSS, the Brossman, Creative Works, and can be seen in local commercials. Her historic monologue on Mary Lincoln (with Michael Truitt as Music Director) sold out the Ware Center and is currently on tour.

Candace thanks Connie and Cavod’s dedicated volunteers for providing a platform for values-based entertainment, her husband John for his love and support, and Dori, our Costume Designer, for her indispensable efficiency during costume changes.

She dedicates her performance to her many Jewish friends, who, by the way, do give Christmas presents.

2366MICHAEL TRUITT AS HOKE COLEBURN

Michael, a native of Philadelphia, has taught Music Education for 30 years. He currently teaches voice and directs summer children’s theatre.

Michael would like to thank his wonderful fiancé, Susan, and his great puppy Tito.

Michael has performed at several local theatres, including Ephrata Performing Arts Center, the Fulton, and PRiMA. His favorite roles include Miles Gloriosis in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Voice of the Plant in Little Shop of Horrors, and Hoke in Driving Miss Daisy.

2367BRIAN MCCREARY AS BOOLIE WERTHAN

Brian’s Career highlights include taking notes for Tom O’Horgan at Penn New Plays festival, student dresser for the Philadelphia Opera Company, Assistant Stage Manager for a national tour from Wall St to Alcatraz Island and studying in London for a semester (under Jonathan Miller) where he had the privilege to see performances from the likes of Ian McKellan Judi Dench and even watched a movie with Princess Diana (with 500 others). None of that paid the bills, but it did result in a great autograph collection.

His claim to fame remains 20+ years of silliness with our Mr. Deen!

Thanks for the ride, Miss Daisy.
